چکیده مقاله
API driven software architectures have become a fundamental component of modern applications, enabling seamless communication between distributed services, mobile clients, and cloud platforms While APIs increase flexibility and scalability, they also introduce new security risks that attackers frequently exploit This paper provides a practical overview of the most common security challenges in API based systems, including weak authentication, improper access control, excessive data exposure, inadequate rate limiting, injection vulnerabilities, and security misconfigurations Instead of focusing on complex theoretical models, this work highlights real world issues that development teams regularly face and presents clear, actionable mitigation strategies Techniques such as token based authentication, input validation, API gateways, rate limiting, secure coding practices, and proper logging are discussed as essential measures to strengthen API security The goal of this paper is to offer a concise and accessible reference for software engineers, security practitioners, and students who work with API centric architectures and seek practical guidance for reducing security risks in their systems
