چکیده مقاله
Smart cities have emerged as complex and interconnected ecosystems that integrate Internet of Things IoT devices, artificial intelligence AI , cloud computing, and edge infrastructures to enhance the efficiency and quality of urban services However, the large scale connectivity and data driven nature of these systems introduce critical challenges related to security, privacy, and trust management Conventional centralized security solutions are increasingly inadequate for addressing the dynamic and heterogeneous environments of smart cities Artificial intelligence has demonstrated strong capabilities in intelligent data analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive decision making, enabling proactive security mechanisms Nevertheless, AI based systems often suffer from a lack of transparency, verifiability, and decentralized trust In contrast, blockchain technology provides immutable data storage, decentralized trust, and transparent governance, yet it lacks adaptive intelligence and real time analytical capabilities when used in isolation This paper surveys and analyzes the convergence of AI and blockchain technologies as a unified solution for secure smart city environments It reviews existing AI based, blockchain based, and hybrid security frameworks, highlighting their strengths and limitations Furthermore, major integration models, architectural patterns, and open research challenges are systematically discussed, including scalability, energy efficiency, interoperability, and regulatory concerns Finally, the paper outlines future research directions toward intelligent, autonomous, and trustworthy smart city security systems enabled by tightly integrated AI–Blockchain architectures
