چکیده مقاله
Accurate and continuous body composition assessment is essential for health monitoring, fitness management, and metabolic risk evaluation Despite their high accuracy, reference methods such as dual energy X ray absorptiometry DXA are not well suited for routine use because of their high cost, large system size, and limited accessibility Bioelectrical impedance analysis BIA is a non invasive and affordable alternative, but its accuracy in wearable or short segment configurations is limited by physiological variability, measurement conditions, and the intrinsically nonlinear relationship between impedance measurements and true body composition This study presents a new wearable body composition analysis framework integrating bioelectrical impedance analysis BIA sensing, a fuzzy logic inference engine, and a mobile application The system integrates wearable impedance measurement module, signal preprocessing, and a four input fuzzy inference model to estimate body fat percentage, fat free mass, and total body water The fuzzy model is designed to address uncertainty in BIA measurements and provide individualized estimations based on established physiological relationships Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed fuzzy logic–based system is capable of producing physiologically consistent estimates of key body composition parameters For a representative input scenario, the model estimated a body fat percentage of approximately 25%, a fat free mass of 55 kg, and a total body water content of 39 3 L, all of which fall within ranges reported in established bioelectrical impedance analysis studies These findings indicate that the proposed wearable and mobile connected architecture has the potential to provide meaningful body composition insights and may serve as a foundation for future experimental validation and real world implementation
