چکیده مقاله
Occupational health and safety management has become a global priority due to the increasing workplace hazards and regulatory demands Despite the existence of various Occupational Health and Safety Management Standards OHSMSs , such as ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and ILO OSH 2001, organizations often struggle with choosing and effectively implementing the most suitable framework This study aims to analyze and compare these standards to identify their core similarities, differences, and effectiveness in improving workplace safety A mixed method research design was employed, combining content analysis of standard documentation with quantitative data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 60 safety managers in the Iranian manufacturing and construction sectors The research tools were validated using expert review and reliability testing Cronbach’s alpha = 0 86 Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used to analyze the data The results indicate that ISO 45001 offers the most integrated and modern framework, particularly in promoting worker participation and continual improvement However, organizations report significant challenges in implementation, including lack of top management support and limited resources The findings show a positive correlation between adopting ISO 45001 and reduced workplace incidents although success heavily depends on organizational readiness and context The study concludes by proposing a hybrid model that integrates the strengths from all three standards while offering flexibility for local adaptation These insights contribute to more effective occupational safety management practices and support policymakers in developing a supportive infrastructure for standard adoption
