چکیده مقاله
This review examines the catalytic conversion of methanol to dimethyl ether DME , a promising alternative fuel and chemical feedstock Driven by the need for sustainable energy solutions and reduced reliance on fossil fuels, DME production via methanol dehydration is gaining significant attention The article explores various catalytic approaches, focusing on alumina based catalysts, zeolites, and other emerging materials like clay minerals and metal organic frameworks MOFs The impact of catalyst properties, including acidity, pore structure, and surface modification, on DME yield, selectivity, and long term stability is discussed While alumina catalysts offer a cost effective route, zeolites, particularly FER type, exhibit superior selectivity and resistance to coking Recent advancements in modifying both alumina and zeolites, including the use of promoters and mesoporous engineering, are highlighted
