چکیده مقاله
Introduction and Objective: Tuberculosis TB remains one of the most significant infectious diseases worldwide, with multidrug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis MDR TB posing a major challenge to global public health Aminoglycosides, such as streptomycin SM , amikacin AMK , and kanamycin KAN , play a crucial role in treating MDR TB infections However, the emergence of resistance to these drugs has significantly compromised treatment outcomes Identifying resistant M tuberculosis isolates is crucial for selecting appropriate therapeutic regimens and preventing the spread of resistant strains While molecular techniques such as GeneXpert and whole genome sequencing provide rapid results, classical culture based methods remain the gold standard for drug susceptibility testing DST The present study aims to evaluate the classical proportional method using different concentrations of aminoglycosides to determine the resistance patterns of M tuberculosis isolates By assessing the effectiveness of this approach, we seek to provide insights into its potential for routine clinical and epidemiological applications
