In this paper, the optimal design of an Electric Vehicle Charging Station EVCS is presented in order to minimize the life cycle cost, while considering the environmental pollution The various energy sources that are investigated in this project, such as production based on renewable energy technology and diesel, are considered with realistic inputs on their physical, operational and economic characteristics To avoid components such as range anxiety , which concerns EV owners about the distance the vehicle can travel, the design of an EVCS next to highways, as an island or isolated microgrid, is studied In another study that has also been considered, it is assumed that EVCS is connected to the grid as a smart energy hub, and calculations have been made taking these into account EVCS power demand is estimated by considering real driving data Also, an analysis is performed to compare the economic advantages of a grid connected EVCS with an isolated EVCS, and the optimal head to series distance for a grid connected EVCS is determined as a useful option
