Public participation in urban planning is a critical process that enables communities to actively engage in shaping their environments, thus significantly impacting the quality of life for residents By integrating diverse perspectives and local knowledge into decision making, public participation enhances the effectiveness and sustainability of urban development initiatives The evolution of this participatory approach has transformed planning practices from top down methodologies to more inclusive frameworks that prioritize transparency, accountability, and community empowerment, reflecting broader social movements advocating for democratic governance and social justice This research is a review of the issue of citizen participation and its impact on urban management, and examines the challenges facing this research
