Marine and coastal tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors in the global travel industry, driven by the appeal of diverse ecosystems, rich cultural heritage, and unique coastal experiences This study explores tourism experiences in leading marine and coastal destinations, including Australia, Thailand, the Maldives, and the United States Each of these countries offers distinct tourism experiences shaped by their natural and cultural assets Australia capitalizes on its diverse marine ecosystems, particularly the Great Barrier Reef, with a strong emphasis on conservation efforts Thailand integrates its cultural heritage into coastal tourism, enhancing visitor engagement and economic inclusivity The Maldives sets a benchmark for luxury tourism with exclusive private island resorts, while the United States offers a broad spectrum of coastal experiences, ranging from lively urban beaches to remote national parks Key success factors in these destinations include well defined policy frameworks, infrastructure investments, community participation, and innovative marketing strategies However, challenges such as environmental degradation, over tourism, and climate change pose significant threats to the sustainability of marine and coastal tourism Addressing these issues requires a balance between economic benefits and environmental conservation This review highlights the importance of sustainable management practices and diverse tourism offerings in ensuring the long term viability of marine and coastal tourism By adopting best practices from leading destinations and addressing ongoing challenges, other nations can maximize the economic and cultural potential of their coastal resources while preserving their ecological integrity Further research is needed to explore the broader socio economic impacts of tourism on local communities and to develop strategies that promote sustainability and inclusivity in the global marine and coastal tourism sector
