Solar energy is an important type of renewable energydue to its wide applications Solar assisted desalination isa sustainable and green technology for relieving watershortage because of its almost zero carbon emission Inthis study, an evaporative desalination system includingevacuated tube collectors was designed The experimentswere conducted in June in which the ambient temperatureand solar radiation intensity varied from 24 to 31 °C and320 to 1010 W/m2, respectively Two filling ratios of 80%and 50% were tested A maximum desalination rate of1000 and 1300 mL/h m2 obtained considering filled ratiosof 80% and 50%, respectively The maximum GORvalues of 1 27 and 1 65 resulted
