Health monitoring and life prediction of gas turbine units issignificant for the purpose of preventing component failureand catastrophic engine outage Along this, it is essential toestimate remaining life of the engine considering differentdamage mechanisms formed in the hot section components Thermal barrier coatings TBCs are commonly used toincrease temperature and corrosion resistance in hot sectioncomponents in order to improve the efficiency of the gasturbine units as well as the life extension of components Thispaper aims to estimate TBC life of combustion chamber of agas turbine unit considering the influence of oxide layergrowth and thermo mechanical fatigue effect Then,considering various in service conditions for the gas turbineunit, prediction models were developed for different zoneswith the aim to online life calculation and health monitoringof the combustion chamber
