چکیده مقاله
Constrained groove pressing CGP is a promising method for fabricating ultra fine grained sheet metals based on severe plastic deformation SPD Accordingly, CGP was applied on AZ31 magnesium sheets at two temperatures of 150oC and 200oC for various process passes from 1 to 3 Then the effect of CGP process and temperature was evaluated on the tensile strength of the samples along rolling direction RD The results showed that the CGP treatment significantly decreased the ductility of sheet samples while increasing their strength It is seen that, more increase for ultimate strength has been achieved for pass three having a rise of 22% compared to as received specimen However, the increase for passes one and two reaches to 8% and 10%, respectively Although, the strength increases by rise of number of passes, ductility has been reduced in all three passes, where, in pass three, the ductility values reach to 0 13 being half of as received ones The microhardness was found to be sensitive to both pass number and process temperature, and increased by pass number, and decreased by temperature Moreover, the hardness increased by the CGP pass number
