Output from Reanalysis 2 is used to express the temporal and spatial variations of rainfall, evaporation on the North Atlantic This archive has been used for the years 1980 2016 within 300N 700N The difference between E and P is the net freshwater flux, which directly affects salinity and thus classifies the ocean surface layers In mean annual, P exceeds E in the North Atlantic poleward of 500N; E exceeds P between 200N and 500N as well as in the eastern Atlantic Ocean 100N 350N Seasonal changes are significant among the regions: s: P and E both peak during the cold period October March in the subpolar region, also P and E values are close in the warm cold period at latitude 410N, so that in the warm period, their difference approaches zero
