چکیده مقاله
In this research, the microstructure and corrosion behavior of 316Ti austenitic stainlesssteel weld joints in sugarcane syrup with and without the presence of SO2 gas attemperatures of 250°C and 750°C were investigated Microscopic studies showed that themicrostructure of the weld metal consists of an austenitic matrix with skeletal ferrite andsome titanium carbide TiC It was found that the fusion line has good continuity and nocracks or discontinuities The results of the corrosion tests showed that the 316L weldmetal was passivated in both sugar cane solutions with and without gas It was found thatas the temperature increased from 25°C to 75°C, the pitting corrosion resistancedecreased drastically, and the alloy could not repassivate itself The results showed thatthe addition of SO2 gas decreased the corrosion resistance at both temperatures of 25˚Cand 75˚C
