The blades of the hot section are the vital components of the gas turbine, which maysuffer premature damage under the working conditions due to factors such as mechanical,thermal, and impact of foreign bodies Damaged blades must be replaced or repair, whichis not preferred because they are made of expensive materials such as nickel basedsuperalloys Recently, many researchers have focused on the repair of defective bladesusing additive manufacturing processes Additive manufacturing is a general name forprocesses that are capable ofproducing components directly from computer aided design CAD data Considering that additive manufacturing processes have wide applicationsin various industries and have a layer by layer approach, but they basically havedifferences in processing such as usable materials and their primary properties, how tocreate layers, and how to connect the layers These differences ultimately determine theaccuracy, features, and performance of the product Laser metal deposition is one of theadditive manufacturing processes, by using this process, it is possible to repair sensitiveparts The most important parameters of this process are laser power, scanning speed,scanning pattern, and powder feeding rate, which have a significant effect on thecharacteristics of the final product In the current research, to repair defective gas turbineblades, the effect of laser power on the deposited profile nickel based superalloy wasinvestigated
