Wire and Arc Additive Manufacturing WAAM technology has a good capacity in terms of high production speed along with less space requirement compared to methods such as casting in heavy marine industries including ship propeller manufacturing The necessity of constantly changing the torch or workpiece position in manufacturing geometric curved with wire and arc additive manufacturing method creates limitations in maintaining the deposition rate Especially in constant speed rotations and with the same welding conditions, the deposition rate is expected to decrease in each layer Due to the speed component parallel to the axis of the geometric curved, it is difficult to reduce the rotational speed for each layer to maintain the deposition rate while maintaining the geometric position of the layers In general, this type of manufacturing process, despite its advantage in manufacturing complex geometric shapes such as propellers, causes changes in the microstructure due to changes in cooling rate and requires the selection of an optimal manufacturing strategy and precise process control In this study, the effect of increasing the welding wire feed rate by increasing the current, without changing the heat input due to higher linear velocity in the outer layers, as well as the effect of reducing the rotational speed, is investigated Another goal of this study is to select welding variables and optimize them for manufacturing a geometric curved of plain carbon steel by GMAW synergic pulse welding machine and to investigate its mechanical and microstructural properties
