In this research, welding of broken aluminum clamps connected to wires containing medium pressure current was investigated for the first time in Iran and perhaps in the world with the GTAW welding process The importance of the issue was due to the fact that these wires were not made inside the country and it was not possible to get them The SVC section is a type of reactive power compensator including a capacitor bank with separate switches, reactor and thyristor, which is used to improve power factor, transmission network stability, reduce harmonics, adjust voltage, improve power quality and control reactive power The clamps were broken due to improper pressing and as a result of weather conditions, and there were no instructions for welding them, so welding aluminum of this rare and special alloy was considered a challenge The results showed that by controlling the welding parameters and observing the preheat, quality welding was achieved and the non destructive test of the penetrating liquid was also confirmed After welding and performing the Contact Resistance test, the electrical resistance of the jumper clamp to clamp was reduced from more than 50 microohms to less than 20 microohms due to proper connection
