This paper presents a new design for a dual band bandpass filter BPF with microwave frequency characteristics based on a basic design used to achieve desirable frequency characteristics over the passband in continuation it is applied optimum parameters including: bandwidths, return loss, insertion loss, with Defected Ground Structure DGS The compact size and the presence of dual bands are among the features of this filter Simulation results for the proposed filter include performance at 3 7 GHz and 6 5 GHz with respective insertion loss of 0 5 dB and 0 4 dB
