In this paper, a two dimensional finite element analysis FEM of asymmetric rolling is performed Simulations are carried out for various rolling diameters and rolls angular velocities The effects of asymmetry on the normal stress distributions, shear stress distributions, rolling force and the positions of neutral points are considered Results showed that the pressure applied on the sheet and the load required for rolling when such asymmetry occurred is less than that applied when symmetric rolling performed Shear zones increases with the angular velocities variations In addition, the shear zones increases with the rolling radii variations To produce asymmetric conditions, roll radii variations are more effective than the angular velocities variations The shear zone length depends on the difference between the products of the angular velocity and the roll radius or depends on the linear velocities of the rolls
