چکیده مقاله
A hybrid RP process, based on welding and milling shows good promise to produce dense, and dimensionally accurate metallic parts and tools In this paper a comparison of the microstructure is made between weld based prototype parts, produced both with and without machining after each deposited layer It has been found that there exists a sequential fluctuating behavior in the microstructure and grain size in the deposit without machining DWM This behavior, however, is only confined in the top layer of the deposition with intermediate machining DWIM The results show that a part built by DWIM, as compared to DWM, will result in comparatively homogenous microstructure
