In order to eliminate Self excited vibration of the tool the effect of H∞ controller on regenerative chatter instability is investigated for a turning operation Furthermore, in order to show that the performance of the present control strategy is robust with respect to the variation of the cutting depth, μ Analysis tests are used for a certain nominal depth of cut and μ Synthesis for more certainty The robustness of H∞ method makes it suitable for such a problem with a varying parameter Depth of cut in the system The results indicate that H∞ controller can successfully enhance the stability lobes
