This study employs magnetic abrasive finishing MAF improving the surface of specimens fabricated by wire electrical discharge machining WEDM Recast layer which is invariably present on surfaces produced by WEDM decrease the usage of this process Recast layer may be full of cracks and make the surface become hard and brittle and increase the roughness of surfaces This paper shows that MAF process with steel grits as abrasive powder can improve the WEDM machined surfaces of aluminum alloy cylindrical tubes by removing the recast layer The present work investigates the effect of some parameters on surface roughness Ra using full factorial analysis The three levels full factorial method is used as design of experiments DOE for studying the selected factors In addition analysis of variance ANOVA has been used to indicate significant factors and to obtain an equation, which presents the relationship between surface roughness and machining parameters
