چکیده مقاله
Ensuring reliable sealing performance in high pressure gas regulators is essential for maintaining operational safety in City Gate Stations CGS This study presents a field based evaluation of elastomer metal seat rings fabricated from silica reinforced hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber HNBR The seat rings were installed and operated under real CGS conditions, with inlet pressures of approximately 1000 psi and gas flow rates reaching 200,000 Sm³/h The operational lifetime, sealing performance, and wear characteristics were recorded throughout service X ray fluorescence analysis of gas borne particulate contaminants revealed high concentrations of abrasive oxides, primarily silica 11 33 wt% and alumina 2 94 wt% , which significantly influence wear mechanisms Results demonstrate that the HNBR/Silica composite achieved the longest operational lifetime 29 days, 130 9×106 Sm³ gas throughput , outperforming neat HNBR, Viton A, Hydrin, and Polyurethane seat rings Visual inspections indicated uniform wear patterns and reduced surface damage in the reinforced samples The findings highlight the critical role of silica reinforcement in enhancing abrasion resistance and improving durability under particulate rich, high pressure gas environments This work provides practical guidance for material selection in gas regulator sealing systems and contributes to improving reliability and reducing maintenance costs in gas distribution infrastructure
