This paper presents a finite element model of a steelladle with refractory linings to study the thermal impact ofdifferent sizes and depths of working lining defects The modelwas created using ANSYS software and validated by analyticalmethod The results showed that the temperature on the outsidesurface of the ladle have a good correlation with the damage sizeand depth
