Safety and health in railway transportation are among the key factors in preserving human lives and reducing economic losses This paper focuses on enhancing monitoring and alert systems by examining the existing challenges within current systems and proposing innovative solutions based on advanced technologies, artificial intelligence AI , and image processing Existing safety mechanisms, such as Dead Man Pedals, which play a critical role in preventing accidents, face limitations due to poor design and improper use This study analyzes the ergonomic aspects and weaknesses of current systems and suggests optimizations involving the use of advanced sensors and deep learning algorithms Specifically, train operator fatigue detection algorithms, which leverage image processing and convolutional neural networks CNNs , identify facial behaviors such as the frequency of blinking and eye movements When signs of fatigue are detected, timely alerts are issued to ensure operator safety Additionally, wearable sensors, which measure vital body parameters such as heart rate and blood oxygen levels, enable continuous monitoring and the prediction of hazardous conditions, including heart attacks or loss of consciousness Ultimately, the paper proposes that integrating surveillance cameras with wearable sensor systems and utilizing artificial intelligence can significantly enhance safety and reduce accidents in the railway transportation industry By providing comprehensive monitoring of train operators' behavior and issuing timely alerts, this approach not only improves safety but also enhances the efficiency of railway operations
