Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women, which, if detected and treated in the early stages, is almost completely preventable On the other hand, cytological screening programs are a reliable and accessible method, so considering the importance of prevention and early detection of this cancer, this study was conducted to review the barriers associated with cervical cancer screening in women materials and waysComprehensive search of databases including Sciencedirect magiran SID PubMed also ran the Googel scholar search engine from 1996 to 2021 To search for studies on the Persian keywords Cervical cancer, Pap smear, Cervical cancer screening and Latin equivalent barriers, including Cervical cancer, Pap smear, screening, Barriers, data analysis was performed qualitatively FindingsStudies have shown that women face numerous cultural, practical, and emotional barriers to performing Pap smear and other cervical cancer screenings, including lack of awareness, stress, and lack of access to centers, and regular screening is the best way to diagnose cervical cancer early It is done with a Pap smear test, so early diagnosis increases the chances of successful treatment ConclusionDue to the barriers to cervical cancer screening in women, it is possible to reduce the existing barriers by designing prevention programs and increasing people's awareness and promoting screening behaviors and creating a suitable environment for providing the required health services and performing Pap smear test
