The famous medicinal plants include chamomile, which for many years has been used in traditional medicine and herbal treatments This plant has been studied many times in the treatment of various diseases and ailments of women, and also in the field of midwifery, because it possesses soothing, anti inflammatory, and antimicrobial propertiesAims of researchThis systematic review aims to synthesize current evidence on the effects of chamomile in obstetrics and gynecology, focusing on its impact on menstrual pain, bleeding, pregnancy, and other related conditions Materials and MethodsIn this review, a thorough search of scientific databases was performed across PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, utilizing both Persian and English keywords such as complementary treatments, herbal treatments, chamomile, and menstrual pain The search focused exclusively on studies published between 2010 and 2023 that specifically examined the effects of these methods on the treatment of gynecological and obstetric conditions ResultsChamomile, particularly its active ingredients apigenin and camazolin, is recognized for its calming effects, making it beneficial for anxiety and depression Regular consumption may improve mood and alleviate depressive symptoms Its anti inflammatory and anti anxiety properties can help with painful menstruation and premenstrual syndrome PMS Additionally, chamomile may stimulate ovulation and regulate hormones in polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS Its properties also assist in managing menstrual cramps and labor pain, and it can address subjective symptoms related to vaginal atrophy, Chamomile can also be effective against nausea and vomiting in pregnant women
