a mother's self esteem facilitates the development of the mother's roles and promotes the growth and development of the child This study investigates the self esteem and factors influencing it in mothers with hospitalized babies Method: A descriptive analytical study was conducted in 2022 in Hamadan 160 primiparous mothers aged 18 to 40, who had a hospitalized infant, were included in the study by simple random sampling Data was collected through a demographic information questionnaire and the Rosenberg self esteem scale Quantile regression was used for data analysis, with a confidence level of 0 95 Results: The mean self esteem score for mothers was 9 7 ± 3 88 In the lowest percentile, younger mothers p > 0 001, β = 0 21 , those with a university education p > 0 001, β = 1 76 , without insurance p = 0 04, β = 0 77 , who had a cesarean section p > 0 001, β = 1 03 , had a preterm infant p > 0 001, β = 2 32 , and higher income p > 0 001, β = 1 34 had lower self esteem In the fiftieth percentile, mothers with preterm infants p = 0 02, β = 1 55 also had lower self esteem Additionally, in the ninetieth percentile, housewives’ mothers p = 0 007 , lower levels of education p=0 001, β=8 21 , male newborn p=0 006, β=2 88 , and premature newborn p=0 04, β=2 06 experienced lower levels of self esteem Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that women with infants hospitalized in the neonatal unit have low self esteem, and the prematurity of the infant is one of the factors related to low self esteem in these mothers
