Dynamic behaviors of multiwall carbon nanotubes MWCNTs withfinite length are investigated using an analytical method Multiple elasticshells and linearized model of van der Waals forces are used fordevelopment a comprehensive continuum dynamic model of MWCNTs By applying Laplace transform, analytical solution for thin and thickMWCNTs under dynamic loading are obtained External pressure shockare applied on the full and half length of 3 , 9 , and 11 layer MWCNTsand dynamic responses are examined The accuracy of results are verifiedby comparison the results with those obtained by numerical methods
