چکیده مقاله
Modernization theory, as one of the fundamental approaches in socialdevelopment, places significant emphasis on the processes of modernizationand the economic, social, and cultural changes that accompany it This theoryhas played a crucial role, particularly in the context of social developmentplanning, in shaping policies for sustainable development This paperexplores the relationship between modernization theory and socialdevelopment planning, aiming to analyze the overlapping points anddifferences between these two approaches The findings suggest that whilemodernization theory, with its focus on global processes, brings aboutsignificant changes in developing societies, its application at the local levelrequires adaptation and attention to the specific cultural and socialcharacteristics of each community Finally, this paper offersrecommendations to improve the processes of modernization and socialdevelopment, including the localization of theories, the development ofparticipatory models, and a focus on social sustainability and continuousevaluation These recommendations can contribute to enhancing the qualityof development processes and reducing inequalities in various societies
