چکیده مقاله
Arsenic is a highly toxic element that occurs naturally in water sources and poses a serious threat to human health by inhibiting enzyme activity and disrupting essential biological processes Long term exposure to arsenic can result in severe health effects, including cancer and organ damage, making its removal from drinking water a global priority In recent years, nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes CNTs have received significant attention due to their large surface area, unique structural properties, and strong adsorption capacity for contaminants In this study, oxidized multi walled carbon nanotubes MWCNTs were used as adsorbents to investigate their efficiency in arsenic removal under varying conditions The Taguchi experimental design method was applied because of the limited sample volumes available, ensuring reliable optimization with fewer tests The effects of pH 3, 5, 7, and 9 , contact time 20, 40, and 60 minutes , and initial arsenic concentrations 0 2, 0 5, 1, and 2 mg/L were evaluated The results indicated that removal efficiency strongly depends on solution conditions, with maximum removal observed at pH 9 75% , a contact time of 40 minutes 63% , and an initial concentration of 1 mg/L 65%
