چکیده مقاله
Introduction: Simulation based education SBE is increasingly recognized as a valuable pedagogical approach in healthcare This study aims to assess the effectiveness of SBE on the management and learning of operating room OR students across nursing, medical, and allied health disciplines The focus is on evaluating how SBE impacts knowledge acquisition, skill development, and teamwork abilities Method: A mixed methods research design was employed, incorporating a quantitative pre and post test assessment of knowledge and skills, as well as qualitative interviews to explore students’ experiences and perceptions of SBE Participants included nursing, medical, and allied health students enrolled in OR related courses at a university teaching hospital Simulation scenarios were designed to replicate common OR procedures and challenges Conclusion: SBE provides a safe and controlled environment for students to practice and develop essential OR skills The realistic simulation scenarios allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations, improving their readiness for real world clinical practice The interprofessional nature of SBE promotes effective teamwork and communication, crucial for optimal patient care in the OR setting Result: Quantitative analysis revealed significant improvements in students’ knowledge and technical skills following participation in SBE Qualitative data indicated that students perceived SBE as a valuable learning tool, enhancing their confidence, decision making abilities, and teamwork skills The interprofessional aspect of SBE was particularly appreciated, fostering better communication and collaboration among students from different disciplines
