Introduction: This paper presents a comprehensive literature review aimed at understanding the intricate link between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation adoption, addressing gaps in existing research and providing valuable insights for scholars, practitioners and policymakers Materials and methods: The study was designed as a literature review identified from the Science Direct, Scopus and Web of Science from January 2000 till December 2022 Results: This literature review reveals compelling evidence of a positive association between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation adoption Specifically, studies consistently demonstrate that organizations exhibiting higher levels of entrepreneurial orientation are more likely to embrace and implement innovative strategies, technologies and processes Furthermore, the review identifies the mechanisms through which entrepreneurial orientation influences innovation adoption, including organizational culture, leadership behavior, resource allocation and strategic decision making Additionally, the analysis highlights the impact of contextual factors such as industry dynamics, market competition and technological advancements on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation adoption Conclusion: Findings underscore the importance of fostering a dynamic and proactive entrepreneurial orientation within firms to successfully integrate and leverage innovation Additionally, this review identifies avenues for future research, such as the examination of moderating and mediating variables, longitudinal studies to assess the long term effects of entrepreneurial orientation on innovation adoption and cross cultural comparisons to understand the universe applicability of these studies
