Domestic violence DV is a pervasive issue characterized by various forms of abuse, including emotional, psychological, and physical While physical violence is often the most visible form, emotional abuse and the withdrawal of affection can also have severe and long lasting impacts on victims This study investigates the relationship between emotional abuse, withdrawal of affection, and the escalation of domestic violence, aiming to provide valuable insights into the dynamics of abusive relationships and inform the development of targeted interventions to prevent violence and support victims Utilizing a quantitative approach, this research analyses survey data from 50 participants who have experienced emotional abuse and withdrawal of affection in intimate relationships Machine learning techniques, including logistic regression and random forest classifiers, were employed to identify key predictors of domestic violence escalation The findings reveal that emotional abuse significantly predicts the escalation of violence, while withdrawal of affection exacerbates the emotional distress of victims, increasing their vulnerability to physical violence Socioeconomic factors also play a crucial role, indicating that economic instability can entrap victims in emotionally abusive relationships Despite the prevalence and severity of emotional abuse and the withdrawal of affection in domestic violence situations, there is limited research on how these factors may contribute to the escalation of violence over time This study aims to address this gap by examining the complex dynamics between emotional abuse, withdrawal of affection, and domestic violence escalation The insights gained from this research may inform practitioners, policymakers, and researchers working to effectively combat domestic violence and support victims in their recovery process
