Translation is a phenomenon that has a huge effect on everyday life It is believed that having appropriate translations of different kinds of books containing specialized texts which are the essential needs of academic courses seem to be an important issue that must be taken into account This thesis was meant to compare ST and TT profile based on Chesterman’s model and to find the pragmatic mismatches and procedures in the translated book to assess the quality of translation The English version of the book was used as the source language and the Persian translated version was used as the target text Then considering Chesterman’s 1997 model According to Chesterman 1997 , there are translating strategies aimed at dealing with problems in communication since translators have to solve communication problems, and have to learn the language they work with well The researcher selected 105 units including words, sentences and clauses The findings revealed that the most frequent pragmatic strategies in Persian translation based on Chesterman’s model was trans editing It is assumed that using this procedure by the translators, was not intending to change the meaning but to make the content more comprehensible for Iranian audiences Though by no means comprehensive, this study can help novice and future law translators to become aware of some useful strategies to cope with the difficulties of translating texts and to deal with them more efficiently Besides, this study can present the translators with the most appropriate strategies to translate these items, so as not to decrease or spoil them
