چکیده مقاله
Ambiguity in John Keats’s poems such as Lamia has been considered for a subject of many researchers, and for many readers this ambiguity remains unresolved and Critics recognized Lamia as an enigmatic and ambivalent poem and this poem has mystified and to some extant eluded its readers Therefore, explanation of this poem demands much caution and precise consideration This study is an attempt to read Lamia in the light of psychoanalytical ideas of Slavoj Žižek to prove that Keats has tried to make a fantasy scenario to obfuscate the failure of Romantic ideals, and the researcher declares that Keats was unable to traverse the fantasy of social fulfillment and remained in the grips of fantasy and dreams, and it is investigated that Keats has failed to fulfil his dreams and to relieve his pain, he made a fantasy scenario to obfuscate the true horror of his situations
