The role of English language teachers in Iran has become more important with the introduction of artificial intelligence in classrooms While AI based tools can provide unique learning opportunities for students, teachers still play a pivotal role in facilitating and optimizing this process One of the most important aspects of a teacher's role is to customize the learning experience for each student With a deep understanding of each student's needs, strengths, and challenges, teachers can use AI generated data to create unique learning programs This includes choosing appropriate learning materials, setting the pace of learning, and providing targeted feedback In addition, teachers play a key role in fostering critical thinking and creativity in English classes While AI can provide language drills and instant feedback, it's teachers who encourage students to challenge ideas, ask deep questions, and express themselves creatively These higher order thinking skills are critical to students' success in the real world In addition, teachers provide the emotional support and human interaction that is essential for language learning By creating a supportive environment, building positive relationships with students, and providing encouragement and guidance
