Cities are facing the growth of the elderly population, and the need for an elderly friendly urban design will increase the presence of the elderly in the city, and reduce their problems and social relation The main goal of this research is to understand the relationship between the factors of the urban environment and social activities on the cornerstone of the lifestyle of the elderly In order to achieve this goal, first of all, the pattern of the social relation of the elderly with each other includes places of relation, period and type of relation, interview, recording, and photography Then, according to the principles of Iranian city design, the principles of elderly friendly city design have been examined This is how it is argued that the elderly prefer to communicate in places near their homes and with people they know, and they have a great desire to tell stories and transfer experience to young people, and the sense of security is their most important mental concern
