چکیده مقاله
This paper presents a detailed transport modeling study aimed at analyzing traveldemand and cost structures in the Madison Metropolitan area, USA The study beginswith a Trip Generation process, estimating the number of trips produced and attractedby different zones based on socio economic and land use characteristics Acomprehensive Trip Distribution analysis follows, utilizing gravity models to simulatetrip flows between origin destination pairs Two distinct methodologies were applied:the Furness Method, which iteratively adjusts trip matrices to match known marginaltotals, and Hyman's Method, which incorporates travel time sensitivity to improveconvergence in the distribution model To further refine the analysis, Out of Pocket OOP travel cost assessments wereperformed for both private vehicle users and public transport passengers The costevaluation includes fuel, parking, and fare costs, among others, providing a comparativeanalysis between transport modes This dual mode cost analysis highlightsdiscrepancies in user expenses, emphasizing the economic implications of mode choiceon urban mobility The findings demonstrate the distributional effects of travel demandand provide a framework for analyzing cost efficient travel behavior within urbantransportation networks The study contributes to the broader understanding of transportplanning methodologies, offering insights for optimizing future transport policies andinfrastructure investments
