A facile and one pot synthetic method for the synthesis of 12 aryl tetrahydrobenzo α xanthene 11 one derivatives via three component condensation of β naphthol, aryl aldehyde derivatives and dimedone was developed In this procedure, trichloroacetic acid as an efficient catalyst was used under solvent free conditions Short reaction times, good yields and simple work up are some advantages of this method
