چکیده مقاله
Microbial Fuel Cells MFC are bioreactors that convert chemical energy in organic bonds into electricity under anaerobic conditions by using the catalytic reactions of microorganisms MFC technology development requires a deeper understanding of microbial processes, their components, limitations, and factors, as well as a larger, simpler system design that increases power production while remaining cost effective In this review, we examine, what is on MFCs and how they operate, the most important MFC components as well as their relevance, multiple MFC designs that have been presented as efficient configurations, Applications of MFCs, as well as several types of wastewater as substrates in MFCs Using a microbial fuel cell can also be used in wastewater treatment to destroy organic matter The development of MFC technology requires a greater understanding of microbial processes for MFCs, and their components, limitations, factors, and a larger and simpler system design that increases electricity production while being cost effective The purpose of this review is to describe what MFCs are and how they work, the most important components of MFCs and their relevance, multiple MFC designs that have been presented as efficient configurations, and several types of wastewater as substrates in MFCs
