Inadequate representation of actual seismic demand by code spectra in high risk zones necessitates a seismic hazard analysis and the calculation of peak ground acceleration PGA Although design based on code specified spectra such as Iran's Standard 2800 is common and straightforward, it may not adequately reflect the actual seismic demand in high risk zones Therefore, using site specific hazard spectra derived from probabilistic seismic hazard analysis PSHA can provide a more realistic understanding of structural behavior In this study, the seismic performance of a 5 story steel structure with a moment resisting frame and X bracing system was investigated under scaled earthquake records The objective was to compare the structural responses under two intensity levels 0 3g and 0 45g , considering an importance factor of 1 2, using real ground motions Bam, Manjil, and Tabas , representing code based and site specific spectra, respectively Nonlinear dynamic time history analyses were conducted, and parameters such as inter story drift ratio, base shear, and plastic hinge formation were evaluated The results indicated that increasing the seismic intensity significantly amplifies the structural responses The results showed that the inter story drift in some stories increased by up to 52% at seismic intensity levels of 0 3g and 0 45g and base shear rose by 26%
