The focus of this paper is to determine the effects of the vertical ground motion on stochastic dynamic responses of dam reservoir interactionystems using the Lagrangian approach The Sar yar concrete gravity dam constructed in Turkey is selected for numerical example Dam reservoir interaction system subjected to vertical ground motion is modeled by using eight and nine noded two dimensional solid and fluid finite elements The displacements and stresses are calculated by using stochastic and deterministic dynamic analyses and compared with each other
