چکیده مقاله
Revolutionary innovative approaches in the field of geotechnical research could bring breakthroughs to conventional soil stabilization practices, especially in a time when cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability are of vital importance One of the most promising methods to be substituted as a construction material is microbial induced calcium carbonate precipitation MICP through the application of bacteria and cementation solution with various purposes of soil properties improvement, including strength and stiffness, liquefaction resistance, wind/water erosion control, and permeability While the previous results confirm the general application of MICP, it does not explicitly detail the differences or specific challenges of applying MICP in fine versus coarse grained soils Hence, the present review aims to highlight the progress of research on the application of MICP in soil strengthening depending in various soil types Details on the maximum and minimum of the UCS achieved using multiple species, as well as the concentration of cementation solution, have been presented and discussed
