چکیده مقاله
Groins serve to maintain a desirable channel for the purpose of flood control, improved navigation and erosion control This study focuses on permeable groins and their interaction with the riverbed flow and sedimentation In this study, a 3D numerical model is used to simulate steady state flows around pile groins in a schematic test channel This model solves the Navier Stokes equations with a k ε turbulence closure on a three dimensional, non orthogonal and the SIMPLEC algorithm was used to solve them The validity of the hydrodynamic model is examined by comparing the numerical simulation results These results demonstrate the strong spatial variability of the flow and sediments in the presence of groins
