In this paper, the influence of wave in deck load on the reliability of jacket type offshore platform is investigated The APIRP2A and Kaplan’s models are considered It is show that the API RP2A wave load model may offer a much smaller wave in deck load compared to Kaplan’s model It is concluded that the reliability index of the jacket system may very significantly with the inclusion of the wave in deck forces It is also shown that the influence of the wave in deck load model may be less profound in comparison to the choice of wave in deck and variation of air gap itself
