In this paper the design hysteretic and elastic input energy spectra are introduced The methods to obtain these spectra are also discussed and as the final goal of the article is to evaluate the earthquake hysteretic energy demand, the relationships required for converting the elastic input energy to hysteretic energy are investigated and derived
