چکیده مقاله
Riparian vegetation significantly influences flow hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and bed stability These vegetation patches alter flow structures, reduce velocity, enhance local turbulence, and modify sediment deposition patterns, playing a crucial role in fluvial processes However, investigating this phenomenon presents challenges, including the complexity of turbulent flow, intricate interactions between vegetation, flow, and the riverbed, and limitations associated with experimental, numerical, and field studies This study reviews previous researches on the flow field around circular vegetation patches, addressing key challenges and identifying research gaps Existing studies are categorized into three main approaches: laboratory experiments, numerical simulations, and field observations Prior researches highlight the impact of vegetation parameters such as density, porosity, spatial arrangement, and patch aspect ratio on turbulence intensity, recirculation zone length, and momentum exchange Recent studies employing advanced measurement techniques and modeling approaches have provided deeper insights into the hydrodynamics of such vegetated flows A comprehensive understanding of flow behavior and identifying key research needs in this domain can contribute to developing more accurate models and improving design criteria for sustainable river management
