چکیده مقاله
This study investigates the microstructural and mechanical properties of a novel Cu Al Mn CAM alloy, Cu 30 3A1 9 7Mn at% , a composition not previously reported in the literature The alloy was synthesized by melting high purity copper, aluminum, and manganese in a graphite crucible using an induction furnace, followed by air cooling Wide ranging characterization was performed, including X ray diffraction XRD , optical and scanning electron microscopy SEM with elemental mapping via energy dispersive spectroscopy EDS , microhardness testing, and differential scanning calorimetry DSC Phase analysis identified the formation of Cu9A14 γ phase and Al2Mn2Cu, which significantly influence the alloy's properties Microstructural evaluation revealed an average grain size of 22 8 μm, while hardness reached 436 HV, primarily due to the high volume fraction of the γ Al4C49 phase DSC results indicated a martensitic transformation with an austenite finish Af temperature of 63 °C, suggesting potential for superelastic behavior under ambient conditions The novelty of this composition lies in its unique combination of Cu, Al, and Mn, which has not been systematically studied These findings position Cu 30 3A1 9 7Mn as a promising candidate for advanced structural applications, particularly in civil engineering, where optimized phase composition and mechanical properties are critical
