چکیده مقاله
The energy pile simultaneously plays the role of a structural foundation and a heat exchanger which provides a sustainable source of energy for buildings In this study, the thermal performance of a concrete energy pile with a length of 28 meters, in four various soil layering fully sand, fully clay, sand over clay, and clay over sand in 90 days of the summer season was investigated using 3D FEM COMSOL Multiphysics software It was found that the efficacy of the energy pile in fully sandy ground was approximately 13% greater than that in the fully clayey ground The results revealed that the increase in soil permeability is one of the key factors in enhancing the output power of the energy pile It was also found that the type of soil at the pile tip, where the pile is supported, has a significant effect on improving the system's efficiency Therefore, the soil layering surrounding the pile plays a key role in the thermal efficiency of the energy pile Energy piles are an effective solution for utilizing geothermal energy, thereby reducing fossil fuel consumption and paving the way toward zero energy buildings
